Nobody pays road tax... Get your facts straight!

Road tax was abolished in the UK during the late 1930s by Sir Winston Churchill. The little disc you pay for annually/bi-annually is called a vehicle licence or vehicle excise duty and the reason you pay it is because you are driving a vehicle that injects a huge carbon footprint into society and is a vehicle that is capable of killing a number of people standing in a bus queue. You also cause a lot more wear on the roads than cyclists do.

THAT is why you pay your so-called road tax. If the government was to start charging cyclists vehicle duty, then they need to start charging pedestrians for walking along the road side. In fact, we do already pay in the form of council tax.

Maybe...

But bloody cyclists are still a real pain in the butt and I don't see why they should get away without paying anything!

No, not all cyclists are bad. The trouble is, when someone has spent loads of loot on a car which they feel boosts their status in society, they start to think the world revolves around them. The truth of the matter is that cyclists should take precedence over anyone that decides to use a car on a daily basis, especially a thirsty one like an M3 (or any other BMW come to that).

HOWEVER, I don’t want to sound one-sided. I do believe cyclists should be licensed, because they can still cause problems especially at night when they don’t use lights and stuff like that. So when they cause problems, they can be brought to justice.
